“…because where two or three have come together in my name, I am there among them."
My Friends, because the President declared a National Emergency, our Bishop has instructed each and every Church in the Diocese of New Jersey to suspend services until further notice. I know this suspension is abrupt, but I rather we error on the side of caution to guarantee our congregation remains healthy.
Sometimes it is difficult to envision a faith community without the protection of a brick and mortar building filled with the tangible images of Christ’s sacrifice, songs of praise and fellow believers with whom we share the sacrament. But, St. Elizabeth’s knows that a faith community goes beyond the doors of any church; it is a commitment to follow in the footsteps of Christ and it is a commitment to one another. A faith community is the love we have for one another, the love we have for our community and the love we have for Jesus; we are a part of the ever-growing Jesus Movement that lives and works in all Christian communities with and without churches.
For a short while, we will be posting sermons and notices on line. If this emergency last longer than two weeks, we will be video-taping sermons and making them available on line.
Stay safe and God bless.
